Our Commitment: We believe in transparency and minimal data collection. We only collect what is absolutely necessary to provide our service, and we never sell your personal information to third parties.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Email Address: Collected to allow you to restore your subscription on a new device.
1.2 Information Collected by Third Parties
- Full Name & Payment Details: Collected and managed by our payment providers (Paystack, Apple App Store, or Google Play Store) when you subscribe to our premium service. We do not store this information.
1.3 Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain information when you use the App:

Device Identifier: We generate a unique identifier by hashing your device's hardware information (such as device model and manufacturer). This creates a fingerprint that is unique to your device but cannot be reversed to reveal your actual hardware details. This identifier is solely used to link your premium subscription to your device.
1.4 Media Files
Your media files (videos, images) are processed entirely on your device. We do not upload, access, store, or transmit your media files to any server. All compression and editing happens locally on your phone.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Subscription Management: To verify your premium subscription status and manage your account.
- Payment Processing: Your payment information is processed securely by our third-party payment providers (Paystack, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store). We do not store your credit card or bank details.
- Advertising: Google AdMob is used to display advertisements to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device and interaction data to serve relevant ads.
- Analytics: Firebase and Google Analytics are used to collect anonymized usage data to help us understand how the App is used, monitor performance, and improve our features.
- Crash Reporting: Firebase Crashlytics is used to collect crash logs and diagnostic data to help us identify and fix technical issues.
- Service Communications: To send you important notifications about your subscription (renewal reminders, payment confirmations, service updates).
- Customer Support: To assist you with technical issues or subscription questions.
3. What We Do NOT Do With Your Data
We explicitly commit to NOT doing the following:
- We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties.
- We do NOT share your email address with marketing partners.
- We do NOT access or store your media files (photos, videos).
- We do NOT track your location.
- We do NOT collect your contacts, messages, or browsing history.
- We do NOT create advertising profiles based on your usage.
- We do NOT use your data for purposes other than those described in this policy.
4. Google AdMob (Advertising)
4.1 Free Users
If you use the free version of WhatStatHD, we display advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising identifier (can be reset in your device settings)
- IP address (for geo-targeting ads)
- Device information (for ad compatibility)
- App interaction data (for ad performance measurement)
4.2 Premium Users
Premium subscribers do not see any advertisements. AdMob is completely disabled for premium users, and no advertising-related data is collected from premium accounts.
4.3 Your Choices
You can limit personalized advertising by:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
- iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking → Disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

5.1 Where Your Data is Stored
- Subscription Data: Stored securely by our payment processors (Paystack, Apple, or Google) on their respective servers.
- Analytics Data: Stored securely by Firebase and Google Analytics on Google's servers.
- Local Data: App preferences and settings are stored locally on your device.
- Media Files: Always remain on your device; never uploaded to our servers.
5.2 Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- All communications use HTTPS encryption
- Device identifiers are hashed before storage
- Payment processing is handled entirely by trusted third-party providers
- Access to subscription data is strictly limited
6. Data Retention
We do not directly store your subscription or payment data. All payment and subscription records are retained by our third-party payment processors (Paystack, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store) in accordance with their respective data retention policies and applicable tax and legal requirements.
